Singapore Anglican Community Services is the community service arm of the Diocese of Singapore. It provides psychiatric rehabilitation, care for families-in-crisis, and seniors’ services to help underserved individuals restore dignity, health, and well-being.

Job Summary

Provide day care services to clients at the Day Care Centre and Dementia Care Centre, maintaining a clean, safe environment and assisting clients with personal care and daily living activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients at drop-off points and escort them to the centre or rehabilitation sessions to ensure safe arrival
• Help clients settle comfortably upon arrival to promote a welcoming environment
• Serve meals and assist with feeding, including nasogastric feeding, to meet dietary needs
• Supervise and support clients during various activities to encourage participation and safety
• Conduct group programmes and activities under therapist supervision to engage clients
• Accompany clients during transport when centre transport is provided to ensure safety
• Assist clients with elimination needs to maintain hygiene and comfort
• Provide medication assistance and simple wound care when trained to support client health
• Assist clients with mobility to promote independence and prevent falls
• Document client activities regularly to track progress and care provided
• Identify and report clients who are unwell or show sudden changes in condition to appropriate staff for timely follow-up
• Participate in in-service training programmes to upgrade skills and knowledge
• Follow fire and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment
• Maintain good housekeeping to ensure a clean and orderly centre
• Participate in quality improvement projects to enhance centre processes and client care
• Perform other duties as assigned to support centre operations

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Minimum ‘N’ levels preferably with certificate in Health Care Assisting
• Preferably 1 year of experience in a similar care setting
• Caring attitude towards elderly clients and strong interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in English to communicate effectively with clients and staff
