Roles & Responsibilities

Senior Mechanical Engineer

Salary: $7,000 – $8,000 per month
Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Location: Tai Seng, Singapore

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate mechanical engineering works for building and residential development projects, including HDB projects.

• Manage the design, coordination and implementation of mechanical building services systems throughout the project lifecycle.

• Review mechanical designs, calculations, drawings, specifications, shop drawings and technical submissions.

• Coordinate mechanical services including ACMV/HVAC, plumbing, sanitary, fire protection and other related building services.

• Ensure mechanical designs and installations comply with project specifications, relevant Singapore codes, standards and regulatory requirements.

• Coordinate closely with clients, consultants, architects, C&S engineers, contractors, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.

• Attend technical, design, coordination and progress meetings.

• Identify and resolve design, technical and site coordination issues.

• Review contractors' technical proposals, material submissions, method statements and other engineering documentation.

• Monitor mechanical works on site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project requirements.

• Coordinate mechanical interfaces with architectural, structural, electrical and other building services.

• Support and coordinate authority submissions, inspections and approvals where required.

• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities for mechanical systems.

• Monitor project progress, engineering deliverables and schedules.

• Provide technical guidance and support to project engineers and other members of the project team.

• Support project completion, handover documentation and resolution of outstanding technical matters.

• Perform other relevant engineering and project duties as required.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

• Relevant experience in mechanical building services engineering within the Singapore construction / built environment industry.

• Experience in HDB residential / HDB construction projects is highly advantageous.

• Candidates with experience from M&E consultancy, main contractor or specialist contractor environments are welcome to apply.

• Strong knowledge and practical experience in mechanical building services such as ACMV/HVAC, plumbing, sanitary and/or fire protection systems.

• Experience in mechanical design review, technical coordination and construction-stage engineering.

• Familiar with relevant Singapore codes, standards and authority requirements.

• Able to review drawings, technical submissions and engineering documentation independently.

• Strong technical problem-solving and coordination skills.

• Able to communicate and coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and relevant authorities.

• Experience handling projects across design, construction, testing and commissioning stages will be advantageous.

• Ability to independently manage assigned engineering responsibilities and project deliverables.

Salary Range: $7,000 – $8,000 per month
