Shift Leader

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

1. Conduct proper shift handover and takeover, ensuring all pending and critical matters are communicated and followed up responsibly.
2. Continuously monitor the SCADA system throughout the shift to ensure operational stability and prompt response to alarms.
3. Perform daily inspection, monitoring, and operational checks of Cylinder Cabinets, Scrubbers, Regulator Boxes, Purifiers, and other gas-related equipment.
4. Ensure all operational logs are completed accurately and in compliance with customer SOPs, Risk Assessments (RA), and site requirements.
5. Perform cylinder changeovers, liquid/chemical dispensing system drum or IBC replacements, LN₂ dewar top-ups, and monitoring of tanks and gas yard equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
6. Support cylinder issuance and receiving activities, including updating poison permit documentation and records related to gas deliveries.
7. Maintain high standards of housekeeping for Cylinder Cabinets, Valve Manifold Boxes (VMBs), gas storage areas, and associated facilities. Report anynon-conformances to the Operations Supervisor and customer according to the alarm escalation procedure.
8. Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) for Cylinder Cabinets,VMBs, and related equipment, ensuring all maintenance records are properlydocumented and filed.
9. Perform troubleshooting on Cylinder Cabinets and VMBs to ensure uninterrupted operations and escalate unresolved issues to the Service Team when necessary.
10. Prepare and update daily operational reports, including gas consumption, waste collection, and other required documentation.
11. Maintain all systems at optimum performance levels and execute PM activities with zero disruption to cleanroom and laboratory operations.
12. Respond to gas leakage incidents and work closely with the Site Manager, Customer Facility Engineer, and EHS personnel during emergency situations ormajor gas leak events.
13. Support gas supply isolation and restoration activities as requested bythe Facility Gas Engineer.
14. Ensure proper use, maintenance, and compliance of personal protective equipment (PPE), while guiding team members on PPE requirements.
15. Monitor vendor activities within gas rooms to ensure compliance with safety, operational, and preventive measures.
16. Adhere strictly to all work procedures, safety requirements, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Additional Duties and Responsibilities for Shift Leaders

1. Provide guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to new technicians on operational procedures and work practices.
2. Monitor gas consumption trends and promptly report abnormal or excessive gas usage to the Customer Facility Engineer and Operations Supervisor.
3. Respond to customer complaints, service requests, and operational issues during the shift, ensuring timely resolution or escalation when required.
4. Ensure effective and comprehensive shift handover and takeover processes are completed by all team members
5. Conduct site roaming inspections at the beginning and end of each shift to verify operational readiness, housekeeping, and safety compliance.
6. Take overall responsibility for ensuring all duties assigned to Shift Technicians are completed effectively and that the shift team meets all operational, safety, and performance requirements.
