Trading Finance Executive (Steel / Iron Commodities)
Roles & Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITY
Manage end-to-end trade finance activities, including the issuance, negotiation, and processing of Letters of Credit (LCs), Standby LCs, Bank Guarantees, and Bills of Exchange.
Act as the primary point of contact between banks, clients, and suppliers to ensure trade finance instruments are processed accurately and on schedule.
Review and verify trade documentation to ensure full compliance with UCP 600, ISBP guidelines, and other applicable international trade rules.
Track incoming and outgoing fund transfers, ensuring accurate reconciliation and prompt resolution of any discrepancies.
Work closely with sales, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure financial documentation is aligned with shipment timelines and requirements.
Compile and present reports on trade finance operations, bank facility usage, and projected funding requirements.
Assist with internal and external audit processes related to banking and trade finance transactions.
Stay current on evolving international trade regulations, sanctions policies, and banking industry standards.
REQUIREMENTS
Degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
At least 3–5 years of hands-on experience in trade finance operations, ideally within the commodities or steel trading sector.
Strong understanding of UCP 600, ISBP, Incoterms, and SWIFT messaging systems.
Strong command of MS Office (particularly Excel); familiarity with ERP systems is an advantage.
Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to coordinate across departments and with external stakeholders.
