Roles & Responsibilities

PLC Senior Software Engineer – Singapore

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, program and troubleshoot PLC-based industrial automation and control systems.
• Develop and maintain PLC programs for automated machinery and industrial equipment.
• Design, develop and deploy scalable software systems with AI/ML integration.
• Develop, train and implement machine learning models or rule-based solutions.
• Analyse large datasets and translate data insights into practical software solutions.
• Participate in software architecture, technical design and technology decisions.
• Conduct code reviews, design reviews and testing to ensure software quality.
• Lead and mentor a small team of software engineers.
• Contribute to project planning, technical documentation and implementation.
• Develop and maintain reliable production-grade applications and services.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide production support.
• Provide technical support at customer sites when required.
• Follow software development best practices, coding standards and quality processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant software engineering / industrial automation experience.
• Hands-on experience in PLC programming, development, testing and troubleshooting is mandatory.
• Experience with PLC control systems and industrial automation.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA systems.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C, C++, Java or similar languages.
• Experience integrating software applications with PLC/automation systems.
• Experience with AI/ML technologies is preferred/required depending on the client's actual need.
• Cloud experience with AWS, Azure or GCP is preferred.
