Business Development Manager

to drive commercial growth across international markets.

The Opportunity

This is a key commercial role focused on developing new business and strengthening relationships with shipowners, ship managers and maritime stakeholders. The successful candidate will leverage an established network to generate new ship-repair opportunities and build long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development strategies to grow ship-repair revenue.
• Identify and secure new ship-repair, dry-docking, maintenance and marine engineering opportunities.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, ship managers, technical superintendents, fleet managers and procurement teams.
• Leverage an existing international network to generate enquiries and new business.
• Focus on container vessel owners/operators and other commercial shipping clients.
• Manage RFQs, tenders, quotations, commercial negotiations and contract discussions.
• Work closely with technical and operations teams to develop competitive repair proposals and ensure successful project delivery.
• Monitor vessel movements, dry-docking schedules, market developments and competitor activity.
• Attend client meetings, vessel visits, shipyards and relevant maritime industry events.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide regular commercial forecasts and market intelligence.
• Support estimation, billing and commercial documentation where required.

Requirements

• Up to 10+ years' experience in business development, sales or commercial roles within ship repair, shipyard, marine engineering or ship management.
• Proven track record in securing ship-repair or marine service contracts.
• Strong existing network of shipowners and ship managers.
• Experience working with container vessels and their technical/commercial stakeholders would be highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of ship repair, dry-docking, maintenance and marine engineering services.
• Strong commercial negotiation and client relationship management skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
• Willingness to travel internationally to meet clients and develop new business.
• Commercially driven, proactive and capable of independently developing a sales pipeline.
