Roles & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide chronic disease, activities of daily living and / or palliative advice and counselling, as well as nursing procedures such as nasogastric tube insertion, catheter management and wound care. Remuneration is commensurate with experience. Training opportunities and a supportive working environment will be provided.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide basic care such as checking and recording vital signs, maintaining patients' hygiene and assisting with daily activities like dressing or eating.
- Assessing patients’ condition and implement nursing care plan.
- Performing nursing procedures such as wound dressing and management, removal of stitches, venepuncture, changing of urinary catheter and etc.
- Ensuring continuity of treatment plans for patients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures carried out and medications dispensed.
- Reporting to patients' primary care provider.
- Offer a professional source of comfort to the patients and their families.
- Explain the patients' condition or symptoms, listen to their concerns and relay information between the patient and their family.
- Follow all medical regulations and the code of medical ethics.
- Providing a caring, empathetic environment for patients.
- Administer certain medications to patients under the orders of a physician.
- Monitor patients' pain levels at end of life, and continue to offer solutions to physical discomfort, including pharmaceuticals and / or therapies.
- Mindful to alleviate symptoms such as nausea, anxiety and bed sores.
- Guide their patients through end-of-life emotions and are there to support patients when family is not available.
Job Requirements
Diploma / Degree in Nursing or equivalent.Registered with Singapore Nursing board.Minimum 3 years of related experience.Ability to work both independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team, families and caregivers.Meticulous and responsible to maintain standards of professional nursing practice.Service oriented with good communication skills and a love for clinical care delivery.Palliative Care - Advanced / Specialist Diploma in Palliative Nursing, Geriatric Care - Advanced / Specialist Diploma in Geriatric / Gerontology Nursing are added advantages.Work Locations
