We are looking for a Senior Analyst, Strategy & Research to join our team!
Purpose of the Role
- To support the strategy and research unit in undertaking business intelligence and research for the purpose of developing strategic insights and business strategies, undertaking competitor, customer and business landscape analysis, and developing a database for housing critical data and information for the purpose of modelling / projections and input to other business information requirements.
- Required to undertake specific projects from time to time for strategy, business improvement and transformation.
Key Accountabilities
Identify key sources of data and information for data collation, undertake analysis and develop insights as well as drawing out the strategic issues and implications of industry developments for enhancing the Group’s knowledgeMaintain and update industry, customer & competitor informationAnalyze data and produce insights on industry trends, new market developments & innovations, customers’ strategies & direction and competitor activitiesLiaise with relevant external parties such as brokers and research houses to facilitate information gathering of market views and trendsProduce reports to management and internal stakeholders on a regular and ad hoc basisAssist the facilitation of the strategy making process and strategy workshops in order to enhance business position :Identify and assess key market insights, issues, opportunities and threatsDevelop SWOT for AET & key competitorsObtain & map out top 10 key customers’ long-term and short-term strategies and objectivesEstablish strategic direction for AET (short-, medium- & long-term)Facilitate strategic discussion and strategy formulationUse tools / methodologies such as scenario and portfolio planningScreen & analyze opportunities for organic and inorganic growthDevelop corporate and functional strategies designed to achieve commercial success, including new business acquisition and customer retentionBridge the gap between strategy and execution by translating strategy into tangible and actionable targets that are linked to annual budgets / targetsPresent findings to senior management and external stakeholders in a clear and concise mannerAssist in the measurement of strategy implementationAssess financial valuation on new business opportunitiesParticipate or support other corporate projects and initiatives as and when requiredSupport focus research on specific subject matter and provide analytics and insights as and when required by managementSupport business units in terms of information requirementTo comply with Company’s policies and Code of Conduct and Business Ethics (CoBE)Requirements
Experience
At least 5 years of relevant finance, commercial, research and strategic / corporate planning experience with some direct experience in the shipping / transportation / logistics industry functionQualification
