About Astor International School
Founded in 2019, Astor provides affordable, high-quality international education with a focused and creative learning environment. Our curriculum emphasizes Mathematics, Literacy, Humanities, and Science, while also integrating arts, music, dance, and drama to enhance critical thinking and creativity. We intentionally structure our program to allow students to finish at 1 : 00 PM, giving them the flexibility for external coaching, training, and extracurricular activities.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and School Management
- Oversee Teaching and Learning standards, ensuring educational excellence across the Primary School.
- Lead pastoral care, ensuring high standards of student behaviour and well-being.
- Be an integral part of the School Leadership Team (SLT), Academic and Exam Board (AEB), and other relevant committees.
- Develop and implement school policies, curriculum strategies, and staff professional development initiatives.
- Drive the self-evaluation and improvement planning process to enhance school performance.
- Work closely with the Founder / Directors on school development, financial planning, and budgeting.
- Lead the recruitment and management of high-quality teaching staff.
- Ensure the school's environment, resources, and facilities support effective learning.
Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum Development
Establish and oversee teaching and learning strategies aligned with inquiry-based curricula (IPC / IB preferred).Monitor and enhance assessment, reporting, and academic standards across the school.Support differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those requiring additional support.Lead curriculum development, ensuring a well-rounded, engaging, and innovative educational experience.Provide professional guidance and mentorship to teaching staff to foster ongoing growth and excellence.Pastoral Care and Student Development
Promote a positive and inclusive school culture, ensuring students feel safe, valued, and supported.Oversee disciplinary matters and behaviour management, ensuring consistency and fairness.Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and external agencies to support student welfare and holistic development.Develop strategies to enhance student attendance, engagement, and achievement.Staff Development and Performance Management
Lead teacher training, mentoring, and performance appraisal systems to foster professional growth.Ensure all staff receive relevant professional development opportunities.Maintain a collaborative and supportive team culture, encouraging innovation and best practices in education.Promote work-life balance and well-being among staff members.Community Engagement and Partnerships
Foster strong relationships with parents, caregivers, and the wider school community.Develop partnerships with local and international organisations to enhance learning experiences.Promote the school’s mission and vision, working closely with the Founder / Directors on strategic outreach and marketing efforts.Represent the school at educational conferences, forums, and community events.Required Qualifications and Experience
Minimum of a four-year teaching qualification from an internationally recognised university (Bachelor of Education required).Master’s degree or certification in leadership / management (preferred).At least 10 years of international teaching experience.Demonstrated leadership experience in a school setting.Experience with inquiry-based curricula such as IPC or IB (IPC preferred).Native English speaker with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Strong track record of staff leadership, school improvement, and curriculum development.Passion for fostering a positive, inclusive, and innovative learning environment.Minimum of two references from international schools.How to Apply
