The Company

A well-established company in the trading sector is currently seeking a Senior Finance Executive to join their dynamic team.

The Role

The role involves comprehensive management and oversight of trade, transaction, accounting, and financial reporting activities. Key responsibilities include maintaining vessel-wise profitability reports for management by tracking freight, and port charges while performing regular account reconciliations across physical trading and derivatives. The individual will coordinate closely with trade finance teams for settling Letters of Credit and evaluating LC charges, ensuring accuracy. On the accounting front, the position requires overseeing processes for income and expenditure recording, reporting accounts receivable / payable, preparing monthly MIS, balance sheets, and statements of cash flows, and conducting intercompany reconciliations. The role also includes addressing financial and taxation inquiries from financiers, tax authorities, and inter-group entities, managing IRAS tax assessments, and preparing for annual audits and tax return filings on schedule.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate for this role will be CPA, ACCA, or CA qualified with an accounting degree or diploma or equivalent. They should possess a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting practices, audit principles, and relevant laws, codes, and regulations in Singapore. Proficiency in accounting software such as XERO is essential, alongside a minimum of 5 years of experience in areas such as business transaction accounting, financial systems management, budgeting, financial reporting, data analysis, auditing, and taxation. Familiarity with commodity trading accounting procedures and practices is required, with 3 years’ experience in commodity trading or shipping highly preferred.
