Overview

Founded in 2021, NEU Battery Materials is a Singapore-based climatetech company that developed the world’s first patented electrochemical redox recycling method to recycle used lithium batteries. The company focuses on extracting critical lithium from lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries that are found in electric cars and energy storage systems, which will be key in developing a circular supply chain. NEU aims to be the largest, cleanest, and most neutral source of recycled lithium globally. NEU’s contribution to electrification and circularity has been recognized by the likes of the Temasek Foundation, BloombergNEF, Forbes Asia, and many others.

We are expanding our current scale of operations and are seeking a Research & Development Intern to assist in various aspects of wet chemical and electrochemical testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of experimental setups under the guidance of senior researchers
• Prepare and analyze samples with wet chemical methods and instrumental analysis
• Operate and maintain analytical instruments, ensuring accurate data recording during experiments
• Troubleshoot and address technical issues with equipment
• Upkeep and maintenance of laboratory inventory, procurement, and instrument calibration
• Collaborate with researchers to collect and analyze data from experiments
• Keep records of experimental procedures, data, and observations, and compile results into reports
• Implement quality control measures and upkeep of the lab to ensure reliability of experimental data
• Have a basic understanding of safety procedures in a lab setting, and adheres to safety (HSE) protocols and participate in safety training
• Fundamental research into new methodologies and approaches
