Job Purpose
Power Services Controller (PSCO) works closely with the Chief Controller (CC) in Operation Control Centre(OCC) to monitor and control the Electrical Power System (22kV AC, 750V DC & 415V AC) and theEnvironmental Control System (Air Conditioning and Tunnel Ventilation Systems) in order to maintain systemreliability so as to support SMRT in providing safe and reliable train service to our commuters.
PSCO is a key player to restore any power tripping and to facilitate a safe passage for passenger evacuation during any emergency.
Responsibilities
The PSCO position will be deployed to either the North-South & East-West Line (NSEWL) or Circle Line (CCL)with the following duties and responsibilities.
Comply with all the Safety Requirements :
- Work closely with CC instruction(s) and adhere to all safety requirements pertaining to all traction on / offoperations.
- Follow the Permit-to-Work (PTW) Procedures and switching communication with front-line maintenancestaff in relation to safe switching / isolation / re-energization for preventive maintenance work
- Follow all safety requirements and work instructions under SMRT LEW instruction / supervision for all22kV remote switching.
Achieve the following Key Performance Indicators (KPI) :
Facilitate Power and ECS engineering work activities at night and carry out preparatory works for trainrevenue services in the morning.Monitor closely on all alarms and tripping / fault occurrences with prompt coordination with the front-linemaintenance staff to follow up.Response to any tripping / emergency with priority to : Facilitate all remote isolation of fault and safe power restoration according to safety requirementunder SMRT LEW instruction / supervision and consent from CC within stipulated KPI. Carry out Emergency Mode remote switching of Tunnel Ventilation System according to WorkInstructions (WI) in the event of fire & evacuation situation.Provide ancillary support :
Perform system function test / OCC Exercises / Project Testing & CommissioningAssist in the review of WIs and operation procedures periodically.Participate in constructive and improvement work via Kaizen project.Perform any other tasks or functions which are ancillary or additional to the assigned work.Physical requirements :
Able to multi-task with good command and control.Able to stay calm under stress (copes well with OCC environment).Able to work on a Shift Roster system in accordance with the MOM guidelines and Collective Agreement.Qualifications & Work Experience
Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Power).Licensed Electrical Technician (LEW Grade 8) would be an added advantage.Preferably with 2 or more years of electrical working experience. Entry Level Candidates are also welcomed to apply.Skills
