POSITION OVERVIEW
The Construction Manager, Electrical, oversees the comprehensive lifecycle of Electrical construction projects, ensuring efficient project planning, execution, and handover. This role requires expertise in managing electrical systems, coordinating with site teams and contractors, and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders to meet project objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management & Leadership
- Oversee the entire electrical construction lifecycle, including planning, execution, and handover phases.
- Coordinate with site and contractor teams to ensure timely completion of project milestones.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring clear communication of updates on schedules, budgets, and technical issues to stakeholders.
Contract & Financial Management
Lead electrical specific contract negotiations and oversee amendments with architects, consultants, and subcontractors.Evaluate electrical construction methods for cost-effectiveness, monitor budget adherence, and produce regular progress and financial reports.Stakeholder & Contractor Relations
Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and relevant authorities, ensuring adherence to project standards.Provide support to local teams on customer discussions regarding electrical project progress and any technical challenges.Design & Systems Coordination
Collaborate closely with external consultants to ensure effective design and construction of electrical systems within data centers.Ensure the successful handover of electrical systems to operational teams, addressing any outstanding issues or deficiencies.Safety & Compliance
Lead safety initiatives on-site, ensuring full compliance with electrical regulations and industry standards.Oversee adherence to all relevant permitting and government authority requirements for projects.Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the project team.Implement advanced project management and quality control techniques to optimize project outcomes.QUALIFICATIONS
10+ years of experience in construction project management within the electrical engineering field; additional experience in data center projects is highly preferred.Proven experience in delivering large-scale projects.Expertise in local authority approval processes, and testing and commissioning of critical infrastructure in data centers, including Integrated Systems Testing (IST).Solid understanding of CAPEX planning, cost estimation, and total cost of ownership (TCO).Proficiency in project management tools, MS Project, and MS Office, with excellent organizational and time-management skills.Demonstrates initiative, collaboration, and resilience under pressure.Tell employers what skills you have
