Job Summary
This is an opportunity for a seasoned leader to advance a growing business critical to West. This senior-level position is responsible for leading the West business, delivering business objectives including revenue growth, profit margins, and advancing our resources and capabilities.
- The right leader will bring not only deep industry knowledge and experience managing and growing a highly-regulated business in the region, but will have also demonstrated success in developing organizational capabilities to most effectively and reliably deliver on business objectives.
- He / she will be able to call on broad experiences working at the global level in sales management, business development, marketing and other functional areas.
- He / she will have the leadership capabilities to deliver long term, sustainable growth for West services and solutions.
- He / she will have direct management responsibility for sales, marketing, business development and technical customer support.
- He / she will also have the opportunity to continue to build the team and innovate, leveraging the strong platform of talent, solutions, services, and corporate functional support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and execute a strategic plan for the APAC region that is aligned with the corporate goals and Strat Plan for West. Articulate the vision and strategy to the team in a way that aligns, inspires and motivates the team.Develop winning strategies, communicate them effectively, and execute them successfully with the team in the region.Measure the impact of these strategies systematically and adjust as necessaryDevelop customer-specific strategies with both Commercial and Operations teams and support the sales and marketing teams in the market as needed.Grow Sales and profits by developing and building relationships with new and existing customers, and both external and internal stakeholdersSales and Profit growth may come from organic as well as inorganic growth; including customer expansion, market expansion, geographic expansion, product line and service expansion, acquisitions, strategic alliances, and strategic pricing and commercial modelsManage and drive Forecasts and Budgets that are aligned with Strategic PlansResponsible for the region from a financial, customer and team perspective and reporting into the Global Commercial leader for the Proprietary business.Requirement to participate in global calls to report updates on the region and market / customer updates.Proficient in influencing and negotiating at a senior level with customers and internal executives, and ability to manage stressful situationsProvide routine reporting on financials, KPI´s and achievementsEstablish and enhance West’s position within the key market segments in this highly complex region where West is : A global market leader in containment and delivery systems;A trusted technical and scientific partner;Easy to do business with, and provides an excellent customer experience and

Ensure alignment and collaboration between applicable West groups and individualsWork closely with other key West functions to improve operational effectiveness, maintain the highest regulatory and quality standards, and operate at the highest standards of ethics and integrityProvide customer insights and strategic direction to R&D, and Operations to ensure alignment between market / customer needs and West capabilitiesEnsure alignment and collaboration between applicable West groups and individualsShape product strategy and roadmaps, working closely with Market Unit leadership, Product Management, Innovation & Technology and Corporate Strategy.Build and drive an ambitious high-performance team that works together to achieve business results with a quality-first mindset.Focus on enhancing leadership bench strengthDevelop organizational, departmental, team and individual capabilities in line with the West leadership model.Develop and inspire the next-generation of local leaders.Understand and interpret the environment in which West operates.Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science related field, Business or equivalent experienceWork Experience
15+ years of experience in operations, sales, marketing, and / or finance roles. Global commercial leadership experience with budget oversight, preferably in a multinational life sciences manufacturing organizationPreferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Master’s degree in Engineering, Science or Business preferredFunctional expertise : in-depth knowledge in sales / marketing, operations, finance, in a business-to-business environmentSolid understanding of manufacturing operations, global supply chain, quality assurance and regulatory affairsProven ability to develop and execute an effective strategy and vision to drive significant growthDeep understanding of the healthcare industry, including pharmaceutical / medical device in global markets and the complexities of working effectively in this environmentExperience in successfully leading global multi-functional or cross-functional teams, in developing cohesive relationships and producing strong business resultsSuccessful track record of working and building relationships and ability to influence at a regional and global level, developing trust and confidence from senior leadersCountry and channel sales management, as well as, selling, marketing, presenting, negotiating, and building trust with customers through regular interaction and inputDemonstrated commitment to delivering product and services of the highest qualityExperience in managing in high-performance cultures, coaching, leading and developing peopleStrong business acumen, continuous improvement approach and complex problem-solving skillsFluent in English and excellent communication (written and verbal) understood by diverse and large audiencesAble to comply with the company’s safety and quality policies at all timesTravel Requirements
