Core
Responsibilities
In
this role, you will lead innovation by supporting the excellent
performance of our External Mould Factory (EMF) in the Mould Design
(MD) team as a Manager - Specialist, driving global excellence and
ensuring top-tier quality in every design. More specifically, you
will :
Drive improvements and
development of base mould designs executed at our
suppliers.
Define and lead process
optimization initiatives in the business area (e.g., lead time,
cost, quality).
Be accountable for specific
deliveries and quality of mould designs on the external platform,
ensuring that the scope for each mould design solution is
met.
Act as the 3D / 2D review approver for
mould designs from the external supplier platform.
Ensure contractors have the necessary capabilities and
resources to deliver designs according to external
standards.
Ensure learnings from design errors
are documented and updated by external contractors.
Ensure quality data is documented and feedback is
provided to external contractors using Siemens NX, Teamcenter
(PLM), and Classification (Standard Library).
Ensure robust design quality with a strong focus on
Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) in
relation to moulds.
Contribute to the
development of standards for future moulds based on The LEGO Group
(TLG) strategy.
Participate in escalations as
needed.
Provide specialist support to
production, mould qualification, and other collaborative
departments to support the overall productivity
agenda.

The Mould
Design team is responsible for delivering mould specifications for
both new and reordered moulds designed on the external platform
(suppliers located worldwide). The team creates over 200
specifications annually, managed using the Siemens NX CAD system,
Teamcenter (PLM), and Classification (Standard
Library).
This position requires a mould
designer with extensive experience in mould design, the ability to
analyze mould design-related problems, and the capability to
develop robust technical
solutions.
Key Deliverables of the
Department : Create new
mould designs or update existing mould designs to align with our
mould design platforms and standards.
Ensure
the appropriate level of specification for mould designs, enabling
The LEGO Group to order new moulds or spare
parts.
Do you
have what it
takes
Education in Mechanical Engineering or a related
field.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in
plastic injection mould design.
Strong
knowledge and experience with CAD systems and 3D design (preferably
Siemens NX), Microsoft Office, and SAP.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder
management skills.
Ability to think with a
"business owner" mindset.
Experience
collaborating with remote teams.
Experience
working with cross-cultural teams remotely, demonstrating a global
mindset and the ability to build strong relationships across
geographical, cultural, and professional boundaries.
Ability to analyze team performance / productivity issues
and propose solutions.
Ability to analyze
mould design-related problems and develop technical
solutions.
Motivation to work with LEAN
principles.
Knowledge of moulding processes
and plastic materials in general.
Advanced
English proficiency - Level 13-16 (C1, C2) or
equivalent.
