Reports to : Marine Safety Manager
Responsibilities :
Navigational Operations
- Assist Masters with chart / ENC updates and navigational matters.
- Keep vessels informed of current regulations and company policies.
- Support Masters in maintaining LSA / FFA equipment.
- Provide navigational updates as required.
Crew Operations
Screen officers and crew for deployment.Coordinate handovers and familiarisation for senior officers.Address crew disciplinary issues.Work with Crewing Executive on performance matters.Conduct briefings and debriefings for senior deck officers.Ship Operations
Liaise with Owners, Charterers, Masters, and Agents on operational and crewing matters.Perform shipboard visits and inspections, reporting findings to the Marine Safety Manager.Monitor ISM implementation and issue safety-related instructions.Review monthly vessel reports and plan operational needs.Track survey and certification status for deck and safety equipment.Approve chart / publication requisitions.Ensure vessels are inspected every six months (±1 month) using checklist VIQ7.Log defects using form G-06 and ensure PMS compliance.Require Masters to file NCs using Form S-05 for deficiencies.Conduct onboard safety meetings when possible.Requirements :
Master Mariner (Unlimited) Class 1 COC.At least 3 years’ command experience on VLGC / VLEC or similar oil tankers.Strong knowledge of ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, IGC, IBC, ISO standards, and TMSA.Shore-based experience preferred.ISM / ISO / ISPS auditor and ship vetting experience is an advantage.Strong coordination, communication, and English language skills.Responsible, proactive, and professional.Tell employers what skills you have
