Job description

A plumber's job scope includes installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems and fixtures in various settings like homes, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities. They work with water, gas, and waste systems, installing and fixing pipes, fixtures like toilets and sinks, and appliances with water connections. Plumbers also read blueprints, troubleshoot issues, ensure compliance with codes, and provide cost estimates for repairs.

Specific duties often include :

• Installation : Installing pipes, fixtures (toilets, sinks, tubs, etc.), and appliances that use water or gas.
• Repair : Fixing leaks, clogs, and damaged pipes or fixtures.
• Maintenance : Performing routine checks and maintenance to prevent problems and ensure systems are functioning correctly.
• Troubleshooting : Diagnosing plumbing issues and recommending solutions.
• Blueprint Interpretation : Reading and understanding blueprints to plan and execute installations.
• Compliance : Ensuring all work adheres to plumbing codes and regulations.
• Cost Estimation : Providing clients with estimates for plumbing services.
• Collaboration : Working with other tradespeople (electricians, HVAC technicians) on construction projects.
• Customer Interaction : Communicating with clients, providing updates, and addressing their concerns.
