Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities :

• Provide safe, competent, and individualised nursing care in accordance with established standards.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, treatment, and condition.
• Monitor patients and uphold infection control protocols.
• Allocate and manage medical equipment to ensure adequate resources for patient care.
• Communicate effectively and build rapport with patients, families, and caregivers.
• Assist in direct patient care under the supervision of a Staff Nurse, including evaluation and liaison with physicians and families.
• Participate in Multidisciplinary Team meetings to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Comply with legal and organisational protocols for drug and medical supply storage and control.
• Support patient safety initiatives and maintain a safe care environment under supervision.
• Assist in administering medications (oral, IM, SC), changing IV fluids (excluding blood products), removing IV cannulae, and performing wound care under supervision.
• Ensure all phone orders for medications are verified by a Staff Nurse.
• Follow up on patient care plans to ensure continuity of treatment.
• Support delivery of palliative care under supervision.
• Promote proper use and maintenance of equipment and economical use of supplies.
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion in all patient-related matters.
• Educate and guide Patient Care Assistants in patient care practices.
• Adhere to the Singapore Nursing Board’s Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
• Stay updated with industry guidelines and continuously develop relevant nursing skills.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the work area.
