Job Title : Senior Legal Counsel – Real Estate & Finance
Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned legal professional with deep expertise in real estate law , property transactions , and financial structuring to join our in-house legal team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the company’s property acquisition, development, leasing, and financing activities in Singapore and the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Real Estate Transactions : Advise on acquisitions, disposals, leases, development agreements, and JVs for commercial and residential properties.
- Finance Legal Support : Review and negotiate loan agreements, mortgages, project financing documents, and security instruments with banks and financial institutions.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure compliance with Singaporean laws (e.g., BCA, URA, SLA, IRAS) and financial regulations (e.g., MAS guidelines, AML / CFT).
- Contract Negotiation & Drafting : Prepare and vet complex real estate and finance contracts, tenancy agreements, consultancy contracts, etc.
- Risk Management : Identify legal risks in projects and financing arrangements and advise on mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Engagement : Liaise with government agencies, external counsel, bankers, and consultants as needed.
- Internal Advisory : Support business units in structuring deals, tenders, and operational issues from a legal and compliance perspective.
Requirements
Qualification : LL.B. or JD from a recognized university; called to the Singapore Bar preferred.Experience : Minimum 8–10 years PQE with strong exposure to real estate and / or banking & finance work, preferably with both law firm and in-house experience.Expertise : Familiarity with Singapore property laws, conveyancing, REIT regulations, and real estate financing.Skills : Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills. Able to balance legal precision with commercial practicality.Desirable Attributes
Experience working with REITs, developers, or investment funds.Proficiency in Mandarin or other regional languages (to liaise with regional stakeholders).J-18808-Ljbffr
