Job Description
Our client is a leading provider of specialized software solutions for R&D laboratories in the cosmetics and personal care industry. As part of their continued expansion in Asia, they are seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager to lead growth efforts in the Japanese market.
Responsibilities 】
- Develop and execute strategic business development initiatives to grow market presence and revenue in Japan.
- Manage the complete sales cycle — from initial outreach and product presentation to contract negotiation, closing, and customer onboarding.
- Serve as the local market expert and lead the go-to-market strategy tailored to Japan.
- Collaborate with lead generation partners and internal teams to maintain a strong and active sales pipeline.
- Deliver compelling, customized product demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients in Japanese.
- Localize sales materials and communications to align with cultural and business expectations in Japan.
- Gather and share customer feedback and market insights with global product and marketing teams to support product development and positioning.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and professional gatherings across Japan.

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Life Sciences, Business, Marketing, International Relations, Economics, or a related fieldAt least 5 years of experience in B2B sales or business development, ideally in the software or cosmetics industryProven ability to manage complex sales cycles and consistently achieve sales targetsStrong understanding of the cosmetics industry and business culture in JapanProficiency in Japanese, with JLPT N1 level in speaking, listening, and writing to effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders in the Japanese marketHighly self-motivated and capable of building business operations from the ground upExperience working in dynamic, fast-paced, and multicultural environmentsWillingness to travel within Japan (approximately 2–3 business trips per quarter)Advantageous)
Experience in cosmetic OEM / ODM or brand-side rolesKnowledge of regulatory and formulation processes in the cosmetics industryEstablished network with R&D or Quality Assurance professionalsStrong ability to identify and analyze user challenges or issues (“pain points”) and effectively communicate detailed, actionable feedback to headquarters product teamsEnglish Level
