Position summary
statement : The incumbent is
responsible for meeting guest satisfaction by maintaining guest
rooms and surrounding areas by ensuring that rooms are clean and
ready for check-in. They will train and guide the Room Attendant's
under their section to ensure that they meet the hotel's standards
in providing guest satisfaction and cleanliness. This will include
the rooms and public areas of the
hotel.
Primary
Responsibilities : a) To take
charge daily operations and be on top of the day's rooms situation.
This includes today's assignment of rooms, VIP arrivals, PM
projects, traces, OS and OO rooms, room changes, extension of stays
and all guest request sent through HOTSOS.
b)
Daily assignment of rooms to Room Attendants. Ensure that all rooms
are assigned out to room attendants to be checked and clean for the
day.
c) Inspection of rooms. Ensure that all
departure rooms are cleaned for that day has been checked and
inspected before Front Office is able to check in the guest to the
room. Room cleaning standard has to be in line with hotel's
standards.
d) Should the Room Attendant's room
cleaning fail to meet the hotel's standard, the housekeeping
supervisor is to counsel and train the room attendant on the
respective points to improve.
e) Periodically
raise an Inspection Room Checklist to check and grade the Room
Attendant's room cleaning against the hotel's
standard.
f) Routinely check room attendant
cleaning's equipment to ensure that the equipment is kept and
operationally ready for room cleaning. This includes all the
chemicals needed and that safety standards are adhered
to.
g) Check room attendant's room cleaning
report at the end of shift and ensure that all rooms has been
cleaned as well as updated in the system to reflect the room status
after room as been cleaned or inspected.
h) To
check and ensure that the PM rooms for the day has been completed.
Room is to checked once Engineering has completed the PM works in
the room. Room is to be free of defects and assigned to a room
attendant to perform a thorough cleaning for the
room.
i) Issue master key cards and pagers to
Room Attendant, Houseman / Housemaid and Public Area Attendant. Check
all master key cards at start of shift before they are issued and
end of shift for the return of key cards.
j)
Ensure that Room Attendant raise a service order in HOTSOS whenever
a lost item has been found in the room. Each service order is to be
check and cross-check with the items that the Room Attendant brings
down at the end of a shift and updated in
HOTSOS.
k) Ensure that the Room Attendants
pantries are clean and neat as well that the guest corridors are
cleaned and vacuumed before the end of their
shift.
l) Ensure that the daily public Area
Schedule is correct with corresponding job tasks / projects for the
day and that the Public Area Attendants are present on
shift
m) Ensure that public areas of the hotel
(Ballrooms, toilets, walkways, carpark, lobby, driveway and
restaurants) are clean, stain-free and in line with hotel
standards.
n) To report all defects in the
public areas of the hotel and ensure that the job is done and the
area is cleaned. Ensure that public area attendants are train on
how to identify defects and report them
promptly.
o) Ensure the public areas maintenance
project are done promptly according to the schedule. Ensure that
public areas machineries are well maintained for project works. To
train public areas on how to use cleaning
machineries.
p) Ensure that guest laundry has
been returned by contractor at the end of the day and that they
have been sent back to the guest rooms.
q) To
learn and understand how to post and charge guest laundries in the
system.
