Roles & Responsibilities
Full time attachment to a child care centre in the infant care & child care unit under mentorship with a mentor teacher, the trainee teacher will be coached through the apprentice program undergoing the Higher Certificate in Infant Care / Advanced Certificate in Early Years course and will be able to assume the role as an Infant Care / Early Years Teacher upon completion of the course.
Entry ACEY requirements :
- Local qualification - Completed Secondary 4 education and at least an average of SOA 5 in the Workplace Literacy series (WPL); either SOA 5 for WPL Writing or a GCE O-level credit in the English Language as First Language
- Foreign Qualification - Completed 10 years of formal education and at least an average SOA 5 in the WPL series, either SOA 5 for WPL (Writing)
Entry HCIC requirements :
Applicant must be at least 21 years of ageApplicants with local Singapore academic qualifications must have completed at least Secondary Two (2) education.For non-local Singapore academic qualifications, applicants must have completed at least eight (8) years of formal education.Average SOA 4 in the WPL SeriesJob responsibilities :
Plan, supervise and implement the programme for the class in accordance with the class level, policies and frameworkConduct age-appropriate lessons according to our infant care curriculum programmeCarry out progress monitoring of young infants / toddlersClassroom management and maintaining a pleasant and conducive learning environmentSetting up learning corners for the young infants / toddlersCarrying out routine care dutiesOrganizing and participating in centre eventsEnsuring the safety and hygiene of the infantsWork closely with other teaching staff in the room in carrying out the dutiesBuild and maintain close partnerships with colleagues and parentsAssist in other ad-hoc duties or initiatives where neededUpon Completion of the course :
You will be conferred the Advanced Certificate in Early Years by recognised awarding institutions and will be qualified to teach Infant Care, Playgroup and Nursery 1 from 2 months to 3 years old.
You will be conferred the Higher Certificate in Infant Care by recognised awarding institutions and will be qualified to teach Infant Care from 2 months to 17 months old.
