Roles & Responsibilities

Job Description

  • Position : Principal Structure Design Engineer (Shipbuilding)
  • Well Established Singapore Based Marine & Offshore MNC
  • Working Hours : Monday - Friday (7 : 30am – 5 : 00pm)
  • Salary (commensurate with experience) : Up to $9,000 + Variable Bonus
  • Working Location : Tuas
  • Company Transport Provided
  • Outpatient Medical Benefits Provided
  • Duration : Permanent
  • Industry : Marine & Offshore

Main Responsibilities :

  • Develop structural design to comply with Class and technical specification requirements within assigned schedule.
  • Responsible for delivering the respective project design drawing and document according to project plan schedule. Shall take on project lead role.
  • Review external designer’s pre-contract technical specifications, general arrangement and drawing lists.
  • Liaise with Owner and Classification Society for the specific design requirement compliance, review, and approval.
  • Review external designer’s pre-contract technical specifications, general arrangement and drawing lists.
  • Performing FE analysis using FEMAP is an advantage.
  • Review project team members drawings, calculations or documents prior submission.
  • Perform structural calculation, rudder calculation and design.
  • Prepare optimized arrangement & detail structure concept.
  • Prepares sourcing technical specifications for fittings related to structure (special material / construction, rudder, etc.).
  • Coordinates with detail designer / production designer and checks their processes and output.
  • Communicate with the person in charge of production on trouble shooting and visiting on-site if needed.

    • Requirements :

  • Minimum Diploma in Marine or Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of relevant working experience in the marine industry with structure newbuild engineering design.
  • Familiar with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, AVEVA or FEMAP.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.
