Roles & Responsibilities

Food preparation and cooking

  • Measure and prepare ingredients according to recipes.
  • Cook food using various methods like grilling, frying, or steaming.
  • Follow established menus and production standards.
  • Check ingredients for freshness before and during preparation.

Kitchen maintenance and organization

  • Set up and maintain clean and organized workstations.
  • Clean cooking stations, equipment, utensils, and dishes.
  • Adhere to all kitchen hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures.
  • Dispose of waste properly.
  • Inventory and supplies

  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages.
  • Assist in taking inventory and placing orders for new ingredients as needed.
  • Rotate stock items to ensure the freshest ingredients are used first.
  • Collaboration and efficiency

  • Work with other kitchen staff to prepare meals efficiently.
  • Communicate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Follow instructions from the chef or management.
  • Tell employers what skills you have
