Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Platform Operations Engineer to join on a 1-year contract . The engineer will work with government agencies to support and maintain critical on-premises platforms and infrastructure, ensuring stability, performance, and modernisation of essential IT systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and support enterprise infrastructure platforms including compute, storage, virtualisation, and backup solutions.
• Implement platform standards and automation to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Support platform enhancement and infrastructure modernisation initiatives.
• Manage and optimise virtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Implement and operate monitoring / observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Perform platform patching, backup, disaster recovery, and high availability measures.
• Provide L2 / L3 technical support for incidents and problem resolution.
• Support containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) where required.
• Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for provisioning and configuration.
• Ensure compliance with security controls, access management, and hardening.
• Collaborate with application teams to support scalability and stability needs.
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and SOPs for platform operations.
