Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting into the Head of Asia ETF Business Development, the primary role of the ETF Business Development Associate is to support the growth of AMV Asia’s ETF Business.
Roles and Responsibilities :
1. ETF market structure - Deepen and Strengthen the trading liquidity of AMV Asia’s ETFs
The trading liquidity is an important aspect of an ETF. Investors need the confidence that they can exit their investment on the secondary exchange should they need to. Large institutional investors are particularly concerned because of their larger ticker sizes.
- To support the ETF Business Development team in engagement with market makers and primary dealers to increase market support for the ETFs
- To support co-ordination with the Stock Exchange on policy reforms or promotional programs that will encourage higher trading volumes
- To facilitate contact between investors and market participants to ensure that investors’ trading requirement is seamless as can be
- To monitor daily volumes, both primary and secondary. At the same time, gain intimate understanding of the trading executions of different investor types as well as their limitations and challenges. In doing so, formulate solutions for the investors and thus improve the investors’ trading experience and enhance overall ETF trading volumes over time. To identify opportunities and solutions for areas of improvement within the ETF operational process
2. ETF Promotion and Awareness – Organize ETF Events
One of the means to increase awareness and investor participation is via organizing ETF events, both domestically and overseas, to educate the investing public and / or trading reps. 3 types of events :
AMV Asia Events
To collaborate with Marketing team whenever there is a need to do an ETF event organized by AMV AsiaTo formulate and plan within budgetary constraints for such eventsEvent Organizers
To maintain market surveillance on suitable events in the industryIn determining whether to sponsor events organized by external event organizers, to consider the objective and value proposition in furthering the ETF businessTo collaborate with Marketing team whenever there is a need to participate as a sponsor for such eventsTo formulate and plan within budgetary constraints for such eventsPartner Events
To support the engagement with potential partners (such as stock brokers, stock exchange, Robo-Advisors, index providers and fund platforms)To provide support for any investor education campaigns or to participate in their promotional events for their own products or services with utilizes AMV Asia ETFsTo collaborate with Marketing team whenever there is a need to participate as a sponsor for such eventsTo formulate and plan within budgetary constraints for such events3. Maintain and update ETF pitch decks
To assist AMV Asia RFP team in the creation and subsequent updating of ETF Standard IMP decks for AMV Asia ETFsTo support AMV Europe RFP / ETF Specialist in the creation of ETF Standard IMP decks for AMV Japan ETFsTo create additional materials and content in support ETF presentations at ETF speaking events and / or regional roadshows, liaising with ETF portfolio manager(s), event organisers and / or roadshow organizers as needed4. Oversee the response to any ETF-related queries, feedback or complaints directed to AMV Asia hotline, SG ContactUs or the SG ETF mailing group(s)
To co-ordinate with Intermediary Client Services unit relating to any queriesTo liaise and co-ordinate with Compliance and / or Legal on any queries / complaints deemed to be sensitiveTo apprise and check with supervisors for guidance, if in doubtKnowledge and Skills
Strong presentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate key selling points of ETFsWillingness to learn and understand more of the ETF ecosystem, including the dynamics between various market participantsBasic understanding of index methodology construction and ETF investment processBasic understanding of Collective Investment Schemes and the regulatory framework surrounding themProficient with CRM and MS OfficeStrong project management skillsBilingual in English and Mandarin preferred (to review and work with Chinese materials)Experience and Qualification
At least 2 years working experience in a similar capacity in the asset management industryDegree in Accountancy or Banking & Finance or BusinessTell employers what skills you have
