handling full fledged commercial operations of bulk
carriers?

This role will assist the General
Manager and Operation Team ensuring the successful execution of
vessel operation activities for worldwide trade
routes.
To achieve smooth operations
of all allocated vessels while providing the highest industrial
service quality to customers.
Maintaining
close communications and negotiation with Vessels / Head Owners /
Brokers / Charterers / Agents
Responsible for
the full aspects of operational matters on the allocated
vessels.
Carefully and well understanding of
all the terms & conditions of the agreed contracts (including
but not limited to time charter party, voyage charter party and
contract of affreightment) and taking care that all requirements
are being met and fulfilled.
Voyage planning
(calculating fuel consumption / cargo intake / port rotation /
optimum speed & consumption / optimal sea route
passage).
Preparation of necessary
instructions and sharing information for the vessel.
Appointing port agents accordingly as
required.
Coordinating cargo intake &
bunker requirements together with vessel.
Appointing a weather routing company to help fine-tune
optimum sea route, at the same time monitoring vessels'
routing.
Ordering bunkers which are to be
supplied at the designated port.
Sending
regular updates on vessel's estimated arrival / departure time to
concern parties.
In charge of post fixture
duties not limited to issue freight invoices / hire statements /
arranging payment and monitoring receipts of funds.
Negotiating laytime, raising performance claims or
off-hire calculations against the customers / owners (in case time
charter vessel).
Monitoring vessel's
performance (speed and consumption) at sea and considering any
countermeasure to improve the speed and consumption when it is
deteriorated or cannot meet various IMO regulations (including
introduction of any eco-sailing devices, bottom cleaning, paint
upgrades during drydock).
Managing budgeted
capital and operation expenditures properly for allocated vessels
to maximize company's benefit.
Preparing
voyage analysis and monitoring of profit & loss calculation of
each voyage.
Collaborating with sales team to
achieve energy saving and ZERO emissions.
Maintain RightShip Rating and respond to customer safety
surveys, as well as other preparations necessary for nomination and
customer vetting for the allocated vessels (e.g., RCA
preparation).
Job
Requirements
Minimum
Degree holder with at least 3-5 years' experience in dry bulk
operations, or similar shipping field.
Understanding of maritime laws and regulations, including
IMO, MARPOL, RightShip Rules and the ISMBC Code.
Proficient in MS Office applications, and maritime based
platforms such as Veson IMOS.
Fluent in
English
Strong analytical and calculation
skills.
Good communication and negotiation
skills, with the potential to develop these further.
An ability to develop relationships by face-to-face /
online / text message or whatever with dry bulk counter parties,
including owners, charterers and brokers.
Self-driven with a strong willingness to learn, result
oriented, with a positive outlook, and imagination to bring new
ideas and solutions to table.
A team player
who is willing to positively integrate into the team, but also able
to work independently when required.
