Job Summary
We are seeking a results-driven and experienced General Manager to oversee the entire operations of our carpentry business. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of woodworking processes, and a passion for delivering high standards in project execution, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Production
- Lead and manage day-to-day carpentry workshop operations, including production scheduling, material planning, and quality control.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet client specifications.
- Monitor and optimize workflow, manpower allocation, and machinery utilization.
Project & Client Management
Coordinate with project teams, contractors, designers, and clients to ensure smooth execution of carpentry works.Review technical drawings and site requirements to plan production timelines.Resolve operational or technical issues that arise during production or installation.Business & Financial Oversight
Develop and manage budgets, cost controls, and profitability targets.Oversee procurement and inventory management of raw materials and supplies.Identify business growth opportunities and lead strategic planning initiatives.Team Leadership
Supervise and motivate workshop supervisors, foremen, carpenters, and support staff.Ensure proper training, safety practices, and performance evaluations are in place.Build a strong, quality-focused, and safety-conscious work culture.Compliance & Safety
Ensure all operations comply with regulatory standards, including workplace safety (WSH) and environmental requirements.Maintain ISO / QA / QC standards where applicable.Requirements
Proven experience (minimum 5–8 years) in carpentry, joinery, or furniture manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.Strong knowledge of woodworking machinery, production flow, and technical drawings.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Familiarity with Singapore’s building and construction industry is a plus.Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD or woodworking ERP software is an advantage.Working Conditions
