Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Utilities Systems Engineer to support the reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of utility systems within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role ensures that critical systems—such as RO, purified water, clean steam, compressed air, and other facility utilities—meet stringent regulatory and operational standards.
The Position :
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of utility systems supporting GMP manufacturing.
- Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical industry standards (e.g., cGMP, FDA, EMA) and internal quality protocols.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for utility-related issues.
- Support validation activities, including IQ / OQ / PQ for utility equipment and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, Manufacturing, Facilities) to ensure seamless utility support.
- Manage contractors and vendors for utility system upgrades, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Monitor system performance and implement energy efficiency and reliability improvements.
- Maintain accurate documentation including SOPs, maintenance logs, and change control records.
The Candidate :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or related field.3+ years of experience in utilities engineering within a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment.Experience in change controls for activities involving WFI, RO, clean steam, etc.Experience in TrackWiseStrong knowledge of clean utility systems (WFI, PW, RO, clean steam, etc.).Familiarity with regulatory compliance and validation practices.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.Preferred Qualifications
