Job Title : Accounting Executive (Port Agency)
Job Summary : As an Accounting Executive in a port agency company in Singapore, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. You will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks and assisting in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis. Your role will require attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Responsibilities :
- Financial Data Entry : Accurately input financial transactions into the accounting system, including invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries.
- General Ledger Maintenance : Assist in maintaining the general ledger by reconciling accounts, reviewing entries, and ensuring accuracy.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable : Monitor and process accounts payable invoices, ensuring timely payments. Prepare and send invoices to customers and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Bank Reconciliation : Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure that all transactions are recorded accurately and discrepancies are resolved.
- Expense Management : Review and process employee expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Financial Reporting : Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Budget Monitoring : Support budgeting and forecasting activities by tracking and monitoring expenses against budgeted amounts.
- Compliance : Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and internal control procedures.
- Audit Support : Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Ad-Hoc Tasks : Support the accounting team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned.
Requirements :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Experience : 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the maritime or port agency industry.Knowledge : Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and relevant regulations.Computer Skills : Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel).Attention to Detail : Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and analysis.Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and generate meaningful insights.Organizational Skills : Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Communication Skills : Good verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.Integrity : Demonstrated ethical behavior and ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially.Adaptability : Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, processes, and industry-specific accounting practices.Tell employers what skills you have
