Job Summary (General Nature / Objectives of the Job)

The Quantity Surveyor (QS) is responsible for managing all financial aspects of construction projects, including cost estimation, budget control, contract administration, and procurement. The Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS) takes on more advanced responsibilities, often leading the QS team, advising on cost-effective solutions, and ensuring the financial success of the project.

Key Responsibilities and Activities

Quantity Surveyor (QS) :

• Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and budgets for construction projects.
• Manage tendering processes, including preparing tender documents and evaluating bids.
• Monitor project costs and track variations to ensure the project stays within budget.
• Conduct site measurements and valuations for interim payments and final accounts.
• Liaise with contractors, clients, and consultants on cost-related issues.
• Assist in contract administration, including reviewing contracts and managing claims.
