Job Responsibilities
To lead, coach and maintain a high level of operational efficiency including quality care and service standards and also required to participate in projects relevant to elderly care as well as develop further through continuing education.
Management
- Provide leadership and management of the Nursing Department.
- Supervise and ensure that care staff provide and meet expected care standards and customer servicing
- Do discharge planning
- Oversee the multi-disciplinary team consisting of Nurses, Nursing Aides, Healthcare Assistants, Physiotherapy Aides and Care Staff
- Responsible for the compliance of all nursing standards as stipulated by the Ministry of Health (MOH), Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) and Agency for Integrated Care (AIC)
- Prepare staff duty roster, leaves administration etc
Patient Care
Analyze trends and changing needs of the residents in institutional settings. Plans nursing care based on changing trendsOperationalize and monitor the smooth transition of the residents from acute to step-down careAssess, plan, implement and evaluate patient careOversee the administration of treatment prescribed for residentsPlans and conduct therapeutic programs for patientsConduct or make arrangements for health education, counselling for residents and their family membersTraining and Professional Development
Teach, mentor and supervise nursing staff in their clinical practiceConduct regular clinical training and competency assessment for nursing staff to ensure clinical compliancePerform clinical nursing audits and suggest interventions for, initiate and participate in clinical quality improvement in care delivery outcomeDevelop training materials and lesson curriculum when requiredAssist in collating of training data and evaluating training effectivenessParticipate actively in medical products evaluationParticipate in nursing research, where requiredJob Requirements
