Roles & Responsibilities
The Fitness & Wellness Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational excellence, and financial performance of all fitness and wellness operations, including the gym, pool fitness activities, group exercise, Ultimate Fitness Fiesta (UFF) and wellness / rehabilitation programmes. This role oversees the Gym team and the wider fitness team, ensuring seamless coordination, programme innovation, and member satisfaction across all fitness areas.
The Fitness & Wellness Manager acts as the key liaison between management / committee, the fitness team, and members, driving growth in participation, engagement, and revenue while upholding the Club’s high standards of safety, professionalism, and service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO :
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Develop and implement annual strategic and operational plans for all fitness and wellness facilities.
- Oversee gym, pool fitness programmes, group exercise, and rehabilitation / wellness classes to ensure synergy and service consistency.
- Establish and review policies, procedures, and service standards across all fitness operations.
- Analyse industry trends and member feedback to recommend enhancements, ensuring competitiveness and relevance.
Team Leadership & Development
Provide strategic leadership to the Gym team, instructors, personal trainers, lifeguards, and wellness staff.Align team objectives with the Club’s strategic vision.Set performance standards, KPIs, and accountability frameworks for all staff.Drive professional development, certification compliance, and succession planning to build a skilled and motivated team.Financial Management & Revenue Growth
Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for all fitness-related operations.Monitor revenue from personal training, classes, aqua fitness, and wellness programmes; implement strategies to optimise growth.Ensure cost efficiency without compromising service quality.Evaluate ROI of new initiatives and present recommendations to management / committee.Member Engagement & Service Excellence
Design and oversee delivery of fitness and wellness programmes that increase participation, retention, and community building.Ensure consistent service excellence across all facilities, addressing member concerns promptly and professionally.Lead initiatives to strengthen member engagement, including events, fitness challenges, and cross-sectional collaborations.Compliance, Risk & Safety
Ensure all fitness operations, including pool and gym facilities, comply with statutory health and safety regulations.Oversee the implementation of emergency response protocols, risk assessments, and regular safety drills.Ensure 100% staff compliance with CPR, AED, and other required certifications.Uphold Club policies, codes of conduct, and professional standards at all times.JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Degree in Exercise and Health Science, Fitness Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.Recognised fitness or wellness certifications; CPR / AED certification is mandatory.Minimum 7 years’ experience in the fitness, wellness, or hospitality industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership / operations role.Proven track record in strategic planning, budgeting, and revenue management.Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.Demonstrated success in designing, implementing, and scaling fitness and wellness programmes.Join Our Team and Enjoy Fantastic Benefits!
