Legal Counsel (Shipyard Business)
Our client is one of the largest shipyard businesses in the world, and are looking for a Legal Counsel based in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities :
- Providing legal advice and support to Singapore and regional operations
- Advising a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters / projects;
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal and transactional documentation such as newbuilding contracts, conversion contracts, repair contracts, recycling and module fabrication contracts, joint venture agreements, leases, vendor and commercial contracts;
- Advising on regulatory and compliance matters;
- Applying for and maintaining relevant permits and licences where required;
- Co-ordinating with the corporate secretarial team on matters such as, preparing board papers, resolutions;
- Engaging and liaising with governmental authorities where required; and
- Engaging and managing external lawyers where required
Key Requirements :
Law degree from a reputable university, with 8-12 years PQEExperience in shipyards, maritime, engineering, Manufacturing, procurement, fabrication, tax, employment and labor law, real estate, intellectual property, commercial and corporate lawExperience in regulatory compliance e.g. anti-corruption, environmental regulations, permits and licencesAble to work independently.Overseas experience a plus.Tell employers what skills you have
