Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Deputy Head of HCSA Highpoint, the Social Work Associate is responsible for the supporting services towards the aftercare phase of the programme. This position supports the Aftercare Manager and manages a range of community relations that supports the reintegration of former residents or AIMS (Act In Motion Society) with outreach and pro-social engagement and events. The Social Work Associate is expected to work closely with the Incare team to provide an integrated delivery of service as part of the community-based programme with Singapore Prison Service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Case Management :
- Assist in conducting pre-emplacement interviews with HCSA Highpoint’s residents to understand their needs, work with them to set goals, develop case plans to address concerns.
- Assist to prepare and maintain Individualised Service Plans (ISPs), progress and closure reports from incare to aftercare phases.
- Assist with referral and information and provide support for basic intervention tasks identified by social worker / manager
- Manage and refer complaints, issues, concerns or requests from HCSA Highpoint’s residents to Social Worker / Manager when necessary
- Motivate residents through their day-to-day interaction and ensure the daily needs of residents are well taken care of
- Assist in monitoring workplace safety and health standards
- Provide admin, operational and logistic support in planning and conducting programme and activities for HCSA Highpoint’s residents and staffs in from incare to aftercare phases. (eg. pro-social activities, community services projects, group work, events and meetings)
- Assist with administration, operational and engagement of volunteers
- Ensure that the community-based programme meets the mission, objectives and procedures of case management services for our residents.
Community Relations and Outreach for AIMS
Responsible for delivering the community relations activities and initiatives for its alumni group including WISDOM.Plans and executes community engagement activities, events and its communications or presentations for AIMS, and liaisons with its community leaders and volunteers.Develops and maintains partnerships with community agencies and partners that supports or complements the mission and interests of AIMSExecutes the media and communication duties in partnership with HCSA’s Strategic CommunicationsLeads or supports volunteer activities of AIMS relating to community & corporate engagement activities and events.Resource Development and Volunteer Coordination
Identifies and engages potential partners who can contribute and support AIMS operations and maintains communication lines to ensure collaboration is developed and enhanced.Coordinates the pool of resources and activities from the community that supports AIMS and its initiatives including AIMSpaceSupports to ensure the effective overall administration and sound fiscal management of donations / funds restricted to AIMS (e.g. discretionary funds).Responsible for coordinating the Educate, Test and Treat! (teams of volunteers from AIMS or community) to provide support and interactions with fellow Halfway House partners from the CARE NetworkOrganises and oversees the growth of AIMS community and engaging them in the area of advocacy and volunteerism.Works closely with the Aftercare Manager to support the volunteer relationship system or journey from AIMS, including recruiting, onboarding, support, training, coordination, evaluation and appreciation.Supports the Aftercare Manager to maintains the detailed records of volunteers' information from AIMS, assignments and contributions for reporting and analysis with the volunteer management system.Supports volunteering activities relating to community & corporate engagement activities / events or to residents & AIMS engagement including Kingdom Alignment when required.Supports the activites that happen at AIMSpace, and the maintenance of AIMSpace to ensure that the facilities including furniture, features, equipment and appliances are accounted for and in presentable and working conditions at all times.Others
Provides administrative support including scheduling, minute-taking, and basic finance tracking (e.g. stipends, reimbursements, honorariums).Supports with data collection and analysis of AIMS for reporting of outcome measurement for HCSA and fundersPerforms any other duties as required by the nature of the position as assigned by supervisor from time to timeQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum diploma, preferably in a related field of study in social work, counselling or psychologyProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteGood with project and event management skiilsGood in verbal and writing communication skills. Billingual an advantage.Relational with ability to adopt empathetic approach with people from complex backgrounds.Good Leadership skills are necessary for directing volunteers and overseeing projects.Needs to be flexible to work on weekends when required.At least 2 years of continuous sobriety (applicable to ex-offenders).Tell employers what skills you have
