Retail Butcher

Overview :

We are hiring for a new, pre-opening concept at Dempsey that combines a grocery store and retail experience focused on premium, high-quality products. This space will offer curated meats, produce, and artisanal goods for discerning customers who value provenance, freshness, and craftsmanship.

As part of the opening team, the Retail Butcher will play a key role in ensuring product quality and customer satisfaction from day one.

Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, bone, and portion various meats (beef, pork, lamb, poultry, etc.) according to retail specifications and customer preferences.
• Ensure consistent quality, proper handling, and attractive presentation of all meat products.
• Prepare and package meat products with accurate labeling (cut type, weight, expiry date, etc.).
• Maintain cold chain integrity and adhere to food safety standards at all times.
• Provide product knowledge and basic cooking advice to customers when needed.
• Assist in inventory control, stock rotation, and order preparation for both the retail and foodservice arms.
• Uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards across all work areas, including butchery equipment.
• Support the retail team during peak periods, including assisting with general store duties as needed.
