Roles & Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Subcontracting Manager to oversee subcontracting activities at our shipyard. This leadership role requires strong technical expertise in marine engineering or naval architecture, proven subcontractor management skills, and the ability to drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness in yard operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and guide a team of Subcontracting Officers, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Develop, implement, and optimize subcontracting strategies, tariffs and cost structures across all trades.
- Oversee the preparation and review of RFQs, draft bills, and quotations, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Negotiate and finalize subcontractor contracts, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with project requirements.
- Monitor subcontractor performance, financial stability, and risk exposure; implement corrective actions where needed.
- Work closely with yard operations and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Manage subcontracting budgets, payments, and financial records to ensure timely settlements and cost control.
- Provide management with regular reports and insights on subcontractor performance, risks and operational improvements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or related discipline with a solid technical foundation.Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in subcontracting or related roles, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory / managerial capacity at a reputable shipyard.Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.Knowledge of yard production processes and subcontracting practices.Proficient in MS Office and other relevant tools.Willingness to be based full-time in Batam, Indonesia .Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is preferred to effectively liaise with local stakeholders in Batam.Please send your detailed resume in MS Word format to resume@goldtecHRs.com with
