Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for Sales Director at Paradox Singapore. The role will lead the hotel's sales efforts by defining and executing strategic sales plans, managing and developing the sales team, and building strong client relationships. Source new business, analyze market trends, optimize revenue opportunities, and ensure the team meets its sales targets and performance goals.
Budget Management :
- Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget by providing statistics, forecasts, and insights on managed accounts production and market performance.
- Meet or exceed the annual room revenue budget set by hotel management.
- Monitor and manage the sales department’s expenses to ensure they are within budget and aligned with revenue goals.
- Ensure monthly forecasts for both revenue and expenses are maintained within the specified variance.
Strategic Sales Leadership :
Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve or exceed the hotel's revenue, market share, and profitability goals.Analyse business pace, market trends, competitor performance, and client feedback to adjust sales strategies and identify new business opportunities.Set sales targets for the team, monitor their progress, and provide ongoing feedback and support to ensure targets are met through effective management and strategic planning.Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics, providing monthly reports to Director of Sales & Marketing.Team Management and Development :
Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on achieving or exceeding results.Collaborate with Human Resources to recruit, hire, and onboard new sales team members, ensuring they are well-integrated into the hotel’s culture and operations.Evaluate team members' performance and provide feedback, coaching, and development opportunities to support their professional growth.Identify training needs, develop improvement plans, provide coaching and mentoring, and enforce disciplinary actions when necessary.Client Relationship Management :
Maintain regular contact with key corporate procurement teams, meeting planners, incentive buyers, bookers, airlines, tour operators, and wholesalers through personal sales calls, telephone contacts, and written communications.Develop strategies to attract new clients and retain existing ones, ensuring long-term business relationships and repeat bookingsLead client meetings, presentations, site inspections, and familiarization trips to ensure that the hotel’s offerings are effectively communicated and meet client needs.Handle major negotiations with high-value clients, working to secure favourable terms and maximize revenue.Assist in promptly resolving any client issues or concerns to maintain positive and lasting relationships.Support and participate in all client engagement plans, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and loyalty.Entertain clients as necessary to secure new business or strengthen existing relationships.Business Development
Monitor short-term forecasts and hotel performance to identify periods of low occupancy and develop targeted strategies to fill gaps.Provide suggestions to regain lost accounts and implement special programs to increase productivity, occupancy, average rates, and overall revenue during challenging periods.Develop a prospect list targeting potential business from competitor hotels to increase business volume.Identify and source new business opportunities, including all revenue-generating areas to maximize overall hotel revenue.Account Management :
Review and analyze account portfolio regularly with sales team, presenting performance analysis and forward action plans to senior sales leader.Monitor key accounts, bookers, and customers, ensuring continuous engagement and satisfaction.Sales Operations :
Review all sales contracts, proposals, and agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hotel policies and standards.Collaborate with the Revenue Management team to optimize pricing strategies and room inventory allocation based on demand and market conditions.Ensure effective coordination between the sales team and other departments (e.g., Banquet, Operations, Front Office) to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.Manage the hotel’s participation in trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities to increase brand visibility and generate leads.Review and recommend local sales efforts to support business needs and enhance the hotel's market share.Regularly review account business production with the team and implement strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.Marketing and Promotional Activities :
Coordinate the development of promotional materials with marketing teamEnsure that all sales materials, presentations, and proposals reflect the hotel’s brand and messaging.Attend key sales and PR-related events to effectively promote the hotel.Market Analysis and Reporting :
Conduct thorough research to identify market trends and opportunities for business growth.Tracking and reporting on sales performance, client satisfaction, and key metrics.Understand competitors' strengths, weaknesses, and pricing strategies to maintain a competitive edge.Stay informed about market dynamics, client demographics, seasonal trends, and industry developments to keep the hotel ahead of the competition.Other Responsibilities :
